Looking back at 2007 we'd like to sincerely thank all those who have supported us at the shows and those who helped with sponsorship for the Roots Music Showcases (Okompromo.com, Havana Beverages, Hillbippie.com). Thanks to WFPK for airplay of our tunes and for having us perform for their Live Lunch series. We'd also like to thank Fox 41-TV and The Player's Spot for having us on their tv programs. Louisville can be a very tough town to play original music and we greatly appreciate the venues around town who have allowed us to perform our original material when they could very easily insist on the tried and true cover bands. We would also like to thank those bands who have shared some of those venues with us. Some Louisville artists like Leigh Ann Yost, Shinerunners, Slithering Beast, & The Trust and some touring artists like Tommy Womack, The Gourds, BeatinPath, Eric Wilson & Empty Hearts. We are of the sincere belief that original musicians will always come out ahead if we work together and not feel like we have to compete with one another! When we recorded the CD in February of 2007 we were working on a very tight budget and were a very new band with a few shows under our belt. Our intention was to produce a CD that would serve as a demo to allow us to book shows around town but it turned out to be much more gaining good airplay on WFPK and selling well at our shows, online, and at stores. We worked our tails off all summer and fall playing shows several times a month to both earn money for a new recording as well as to grow as a band. We're very excited about 2008 as we start it out right with a cover story on the Louisville Music News! We'll be taking all of Jan to rehearse, rehearse, and then rehearse some more as we flesh the new tunes out in preparation for recording. We're hoping to make enough progress to be ready to start recording at Downtown Studios in Feb and continue into March. Nick Stevens and Billy Bartley at Downtown offered to help produce this recording after a late night over some bourbon. As excited as we are about this new recording we have promised ourselves not to rush it. Hopefully by late March, early April we'll have a finished product that we're damn proud of and that rocks your socks off. Look for more electric guitars, harmonies, and more attention to tone, texture, and space. As always, we hope to see you soon and we wish you nothing but the best in 2008! Drew, Mike, John, & Lamont |
